About that gift…?
So here’s a thought…
I came across a statement in one of my books:
“When God gives, He gives his best…”
What would it take the creator of worlds, an all powerful being to get the result He wants? I don’t think much… but when He gave, He gave His absolute best…
” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
(John 3:16 NIV)
As a father myself, I have to wonder… If we could, what would we conceive to be more valuable to God? If I had to give my most precious possession, what would be more valuable than my kids? (Sorry wife of mine!)
So. If God gives His best when He gives… What can I get away with when I give back?
It seems I catch myself giving excuses… maybe some complaints? Some frustrations? I am sitting here looking at the words in my books and thinking: What does the Best for God look like?
In my work?
In my studies?
In my marriage?
In my worship?
”When you offer blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice lame or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the Lord Almighty.”

Maybe something to think about… I know I am.
