Walk where it is Solid

There is a beautiful word in the first part of 1st Corinthians: Bebaiosei

It is a Greek word which is means: Confirm. Strengthen, Firm, Steady, Strong.

The root is bebaióō“to walk where it is solid (reliable, guaranteed); hence, make sure (fully reliable).”

So when Paul writes:

”He will also keep you firm [Bebaiosei] to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.“
(1 Corinthians 1:8 NIV)

He is literally not saying that where you choose to walk will be solid, true, or firm, but walking with God, will be walking on solid, reliable and guaranteed ground, BECAUSE God is walking with you. He will keep you when you walk with Him.

Walking with God will keep you blameless…Guaranteed!

”God is forever faithful and can be trusted to do this in you,…“
(1 Corinthians 1:9 TPT)

Now think of this practically. The first letter to the church in Corinth is a very practical book. It starts off with legal matters, church issues, morality & immorality and ethics. It’s not spiritual, or mystical (although Paul never detaches Spiritual and Natural from its co-existence)

Paul is making it clear that God is a practical God. He wants to be and requires to be in every part of your life and decision making. That includes not only your “church life” but also your business, your family, and whatever you keep yourself busy with when you think no-one is around to judge you or confront you.

Walk with God and you will walk where the ground is firm. Where you are steady and strong. But walk away, and the ground gets loose and insecure very quickly.

But let’s turn it around a bit…

Are there areas in your life where it feels the earth is crumbling beneath your feet? Do you feel unsteady? Do you feel insecure about a thing you are involved with? Are you uncertain?

Can I ask: in this choice, this action, this route, this thing that you are doing… are you walking with God?

If you are, don’t fear… God will keep you.

If you might not be… It might be time to repent and change direction. God will keep you, strengthen you and lead you back to the firm ground if you ask Him to… Guaranteed!
