When David tries to describe our Father’s Love…

“Praise the Lord, oh my soul

In Psalm 103, David is passionately sharing what God has done for us, and what God’s Character is like. It’s a beautiful mishmash of stuff just coming out of his heart.

It’s like asking a toddler why they like chickens… Be ready for any answer from they are soft and cuddly to them being extremely tasty!

That is how David is gushing over the Lord!

It is… Beautiful!

Deeper in the Psalm, David explains why we experience God the way we do:

“The same way a loving father feels toward his children—that’s but a sample of Your tender feelings toward us,”
(Psalm 103:13 TPT)

…but before I get ahead of myself. Imagine asking young King David about God. He will start at speed!

HE is my Soul Celebration!

He is the thing that stirs me deep down where the bubbles rush up in my stomach when I get excited!

He forgave me ALL my nonsense!

He has Healed my soul and body, and;

He has saved me in the world and the next!

He is full of Love!

He has so much Mercy!

What I desire, he satisfies with BETTER things than what I wanted.

And when I feel I can’t take another step, that the world and its things are just too much, He supercharges and energises me so that I can fly like an eagle!

We don’t deserve it, but he is patient… and when we fail Him, His love is like a river overflowing.

And even when He disciplines, He DOES NOT just look at me to find my faults, but puts me back on track, because He loves me! Tenderly, without me deserving any of it!

“You are Faithful to all those who follow Your ways and keep Your word”
(Psalm 103:18 TPT)

“Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration.
How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me?
You kissed my heart with forgiveness, in spite of all I’ve done.
You’ve healed me inside and out from every disease.
You’ve rescued me from hell and saved my life.
You’ve crowned me with love and mercy.
You satisfy my every desire with good things.
You’ve supercharged my life so that I soar again like a flying eagle in the sky!”
(Psalm 103:2-5 TPT)
