Ultimately… it is about one thing.

I have sat, staring, too many times in my life.

There are many books and videos on the subject, how men have a “nothing box” – space in their brain that is completely empty. So we can sit and watch a fire or a fishing rod, and have no thoughts.

But I don’t think it is completely true. I think in those moments our minds drift to purpose and calling. But because we can’t articulate that thought, or fear that thought, we just call it “nothing” and move over to our checklist of todo items. The things we know and can do!

It is just so much easier to say “nothing“ or “I need more wood on that fire” than to confess “… I wonder if God is embarrassed by me?”

When Paul introduced himself to the Romans, he was right on point: I bring GOOD NEWS!

  1. God’s Son
  2. Was born as a man in the line of David (you can look it up)
  3. Was killed;
  4. and then resurrected…
  5. By the power of the Holy Spirit
  6. This makes Him our Lord and Saviour

(Romans 1:2-4)

Those things remain true, regardless of who Paul is or what Paul does… but then Paul states his own purpose:

“…so that we can win people from every nation into a faithful commitment to Jesus…”

(Romans 1:5)

No matter what your calling, as a businessman, an artist, a teacher or preacher, a mentor or leader or student. No matter your status or skill. We all have actually just one purpose:

Reuniting man with God through the gates Jesus opened. (To win people to God) and then to strengthen their Faith in God.

This is where finding myself begins. The beginning of Purpose.
