Jude 1:5-10 (walking away and slander)

So… listening to a lot of sermons and reading and speaking, every now and again I hear something that really strikes me in the heart… _as wrong. _ It eats away at me until I find a passage in the Bible that clarifies why it feels so dodgy. *God is good that way…* if you keep on looking for the truth, the hidden truth as Jan calls it, He will show you the answers. So it’s not really a surprise that God directed me to Jude now. Jude is all about false teachings inside the church, and it came at a time where I was struggling with a prominent teacher that claims Hell is not a place but a state of being (completely without God) there is no Hell… (contradicting Jesus’ words in Mathew) When Jude tackles this, he reminds his readers that God did destroy both men and angels Which answered a second question in my mind. Nothing can take us out of God’s hands, out of His care and Protection… except me. I can decide to walk away from this relationship (God have me the free will to do so) So essentially Jude is asking his readers: *_Are you following a teaching or are you learning from teachings but following God? _* Which brought me to the next passage in Jude 8 I read and reread this passage… *How easy is it for me to say something bad about someone, their product or their service?* Now it’s easy to simply say that person is bad, because they are bad… but the angels wouldn’t even slander the devil, and I dare say they may have a better understanding of the spiritual nature and impact on the world. Why would I put anyone in a negative light? Only to make myself look a bit better, a bit shinier. Not sure that “shiny” is a fruit of the Spirit..
