I read this post today and thought about the wild truth captured in this statement.
Has life become our “pie eating contest”?
Have we become so busy chasing to the end and a hopeful “win” that we miss living today?
Max Lucado defines “Blessing” as “…the supernatural favour to live the life that God has destined for you to live in His sovereignty and providence…”
To one that supernatural favour means a bag of gold, to another it is the ability to create, or to build. To some, it’s the gift of making another person smile or help someone have hope for tomorrow. Every one is a precious treasure attached to a purpose.
It’s not a perfect metaphor… but consider that someone else might be dreaming of just the smallest bit of pie, that we are dreading to take the next bite of…
“Renew your mind…” says Romans 12, “take captive your thoughts…” says 2 Cor 10 “guard your heart” says Proverbs 4 and find what is “honourable”, “lovely”, “just” & “pure” in all things and focus on those things, giving thanks for those things (Philippians 4)
Every day renew your mind and remember: We are eating pie!!
