When Jesus met the woman at the well (Orthodox tradition has her name as Photini) he spoke about the water:
”Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
(John 4:13-14 NIV)
There is nothing in this world that can fulfill you.
There will not be enough
alcohol,
girls,
cars,
hunts,
holidays,
money,
guns,
knives,
food,
clothes
houses,
sex,
etc…
”For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
(1 John 2:16-17 NIV)
We will always be seeking until we have found that which God has specifically made for us…
Saint Augustine of Hippo writes in his Confessions, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”
”Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”
(John 4:35 NIV)
If you were wondering… if you have this itch in your gut… ask God about it. Sincerely, He will not keep quiet.
Ask Him every day.
Be blessed on this amazing day and be a blessing for those around you.
