You must really enjoy crappy jobs, that you would do the same job twice!
Isn’t that what a quick fix or a temporary solution is at the end of the day? Some wire and tape to hold everything together for a while (hopefully until the next shift so that they can fix it properly?)
It is then interesting to find Paul address this in a letter that is meant to combat false teachings. The lies that was spreading as truth in the church of Colossae.
“Let every activity of your lives and every word that comes from your lips be drenched with the beauty of our Lord Jesus, The Anointed One…”
(Colossians 3:17 TPT)
We live in a fast-paced world where the quick fix becomes the permanent solution until it all falls properly apart, and then we function in crisis.
So Paul is asking me:
Can I, for in all honesty say that ”this is my best work” while speaking praises to God & Christ that saved me?
Let me put it to you differently. If You meet Jesus face-to-face today, and you ask Him what can you do for Him, and He asks you to “fix the gate…” How well will you do the job?
”… and bring your constant praise to God the Father because of what Christ has done for you!”(Colossians 3:17 TPT)
Paul reiterates by quoting Ecclesiastes in v23:
”Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord Himself and not merely for others.”
(Colossians 3:23 TPT)
and
”Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might“
(Ecclesiastes 9:10 NIV)
May your day be blessed as you speak life over your co-workers and lead by example in the quality of your service!
