Gary Collins is very well know for his “Big Yellow Book” in Christian Counselling… the one you will see on every Lay Counsellor’s desk or bookshelf, usually with a bunch of bookmarks and placeholders in it.
Now he has turned his attention to those that already have a fairly balanced life but is looking for the guidance to get to the next level.
Collins describes coaching as: “the art and practice of enabling individuals and groups to move from where they are to where they want to be.” and introduces a four-part coaching road map that includes awareness or where we are, vision or where we want to be, obstacles or what gets in the way, and strategy and action or how do we get there, all centred on Jesus to get us from where we are to where we want to be.
If you are in any way serious about mentoring and building up your Christian leaders, this is another Collins book that should be on your desk at all times!
