I woke up this morning feeling like leftover dog food…

And as I was praying, God reminded me of a piece of paper I found this weekend between old books.

My mom’s handwriting, from probably 28 years ago. A few verses about our missions back then and then one for me:

The Lord will guide you always; He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”
(Isaiah 58:11 NIV)

And right the very next verse… the calling:

“…you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.”

(Isaiah 58:12 NIV)

I have been in prayer and contemplation and meditation on events leading up to and occurring the weekend and really searching for God, trying to figure out, trying to understand, trying to see sense… so to have God come through with such a tangible reminder is such a blessing.

I feel a bit like Job. No answers but answered nonetheless…

“Let joy be your continual feast.
Make your life a prayer.
And in the midst of everything be always giving thanks,
for this is God’s perfect plan for you in Christ Jesus.
Never restrain or put out the fire of the Holy Spirit.”

(1 Thessalonians 5:16-19 TPT)
