God is Good!
I have been speaking to my wife about how I want to have more Faith and more trust in God. That I want to have more trust in the word God gives.
Last week, our pastor spoke exactly about that in church. And his words were simple. Don’t be Israel in the desert.
If you pray and ask God, and he sets you free and reveals to you a path, then going back to your old ways of doing, is like the Israelites wanting to go back into slavery. They cried out to God because it was so bad, and then when it got tough, they decided that slavery wasn’t so bad after all…
His advice. Stay & Pray… *pray until something happens.*
So this morning, I started with more sincere prayer… asking God for the strength to persevere, for the strength to have faith and to be faithful.
The answer came back simply in the continuation of my reading of Philippians 2
God not only enables you to stick to it, but also drives your “want” to Stick to it, while the devil is firing burning arrows at you…
Not one chapter prior, does he make the bold claim we all know very well :
So… it’s actually supposed to be simple…
1. God created me for a purpose
2. He steers me through life to learn so that I can fulfill that purpose
3. He empowers me with Faith, Faithfulness and the Holy Spirit and walk with me every day, until it’s done.
4. I can always ask for more (wisdom, strength, patience…)
So if God is for me, every single day… guiding and helping like a good Father… who can realistically stand against me?
