Philippians 1:12-26 (knowing your purpose)

Reading Philippians 1:12 I feel a bit convicted.

How many times have a prayed in the last months “why are you doing this to me?!” But Paul has the right attitude…

He is sitting in jail, and just continues preaching… he makes sure that his circumstances does not interfere with his message.

Paul is tired. He is ready to die. (Philippians 1:23): “…I want to leave this life and be with Christ, which is far better…” so I can assume with a fair amount of certainty that the boy is fed up and tired….

But as it is, he doesn’t stop… every person he meets still gets to hear the gospel. Even his guards are now in the firing line.

And I have to wonder. Am I driven by my purpose like Paul was? Can God just put me down anywhere and know that I will function as I am supposed to? Or will I complain? Will I be depressed? Will I keep on asking *_WHY ME?!_*

How does Paul do this?

Well… first, he KNOWS Christ. And he knows his purpose in Christ. He knows what his job is, as it were, and he chases it down.

If you know a person’s purpose, their actions make more sense

Paul’s purpose…

If I know my purpose, the actions I need to take, if not my path, seems more clear…

I would like to challenge you to write down yours… and see if whether your purpose in life overlaps your purpose in Christ… or whether it’s the same thing?
